Healthy Diets To Lose Weight And Gain Muscle
One of the most common goals in the United States and probably in the whole world is to lose weight. Men and women everywhere are always searching for healthy diets to lose weight and gain muscle.
There are thousands of diet plans out there and everyone - including me - has probably tried their share of diets out there in an attempt to lose weight. However, the key to successfully losing weight and keeping it off starts with trying healthy diets. There are a number of very healthy diets to lose weight that are very effective.
Fad diets come and go and many of them do actually help you lose weight. The problem is that they usually require you to make drastic and unhealthy changes to your diet and they rarely allow for exercise. Ever heard of the cabbage diet or the soup diet? The list of these extreme and unhealthy food plans is endless. There seems to be a new one popping up every single day!
The key to long term, healthy weight loss is to first know what your particular weight loss goals are. Healthy diets do not require you to make drastic changes to how you eat. Eating a well balanced diet that includes all of the food groups is key. Your goal should be to make small changes every single day. Or you can do what I did and eliminate something every week. I cut out sodas one week and once I had mastered that I cut out ice cream. You need to make changes that are manageable for you so that you can maintain the changes.
The best of the healthy diets will help you to lose weight and gain muscle. The best way to lose weight is to add muscle. Did you know that muscle burns more calories? You don't have to become some muscle bound body builder type either. You just need to add weights to your exercise routine at least 3 days a week. It is actually not a good idea to lift weights every single day to gain muscle. The goal here is to slowly build up your muscle and that doesn't mean you don't have to be able to bench press 150 pounds to see results.
Look at this as a journey and not a sprint. Your goal should be to lose weight and keep if off for the long term. That being said, it isn't realistic to think you will never ever eat ice cream again or indulge in a candy bar. Healthy diets to lose weight and build muscle allow you to "cheat". After all, it's not really the ice cream that is making you gain weight. It is the amount of the ice cream you eat and how often you eat it that can become a problem!
I managed to lose 32 pounds and I have kept it off for more than a year now. I found a healthy diet that help me lose weight and gain muscle. My clothes fit better and my body, especially my arms and my back, are more toned. I have muscle definition but I am not muscle bound!
What are you waiting for? Get off your couch or out of your chair and take action. If you don't take action and do something now, you will look up in a year and probably weight even more than you do not. I've been there and that really does happen.
